Welcome to the Canadian Society of Animal Science (CSAS) web site. The site serves as the principal means of communication for our Society and suggestions for updates are welcome and can be forwarded to our Webmaster (Vice President).
Another year has passed and the Society Executive has undergone its annual renewal, as announced at our annual conference in Halifax earlier this August. The incoming 2006/07 Executive consists of : Paul McCaughey, Past President; Mike Dugan, President; Priya Mir, President-Elect, Conference Coordinator; Johanne Chiquette, Vice President, Web-Master; Kees Plaizier, Secretary-Treasurer; Ming Fan, Eastern Director, Awards Committee Chair; Chaouki Benchaar, Eastern Director, Membership Committee; Moussa Diarra, Western Director, Membership Committee Chair; Martin Nyachoti, Awards Committee; Brian Doig, Director at Large/Industry Representative and Mary-Lou Swift, Director at Large/Industry Representative and Chantal Farmer as the Editor of Canadian Journal of Animal Science (CJAS).
I would like to recognize and sincerely thank all of our out-going executive members (Duane McCartney, Kim Stanford, Steve Miller and Lyle Rode) for their service to the Society. Last year, Paul McCaughey, our President communicated with the membership by email several times during the year and I will continue to do so to keep members up-to-date with current developments.
Based on the strength and dedication of our membership I am very optimistic about the future of our Society. I am truly humbled to be able to serve as President for the upcoming year and I pledge to do so to the best of my abilities. May all your grant applications be successful, may all your manuscripts be published without revision or delay (in CJAS) and may all your professional successes be met by the same in your personal lives.
