Welcome to the Canadian Society of Animal Science (CSAS) web site. The site serves as the principal means of communication for our Society and suggestions for updates are welcome and can be forwarded to our Webmaster (Vice President).
Another year has passed and the Society Executive has undergone its annual renewal, as announced at our annual conference in Winnipeg earlier this June.
The incoming 2007/08 Executive consists of:

Luigi Faucitano, Eastern Director and member of the Awards Committee;
Ermias Kebreab, Western Director, Membership Committee;
Martin Nyachoti, Western Director and Awards Committee Chair;
Brian Doig, Director at Large/Industry Representative
Bart Lardner, Director at Large/Industry Representative
Chantal Farmer as the Editor of Canadian Journal of Animal
Science (CJAS).
I would like to recognize and sincerely thank all of our out-going executive members (Paul McCaughey, Ming Fan, Diarra Moussa and Mary-Lou Swift) for their service to the Society. Last year, Mike Dugan, our President communicated with the membership by email several times during the year and I will continue to do so to keep members up-to-date with current developments.
Based on the strength and dedication of our membership I am very optimistic about the future of our Society. I am truly humbled to be able to serve as President for the upcoming year and I pledge to do so to the best of my abilities. May all your grant applications be successful, may all your manuscripts be published without revision or delay (in CJAS) and may all your professional successes be met by the same in your personal lives.
